If you wanted to cut etex prior to application what would you do that with, acetone?

why? to seal with or try to spray? if you want to thin out for viscosity put on a hot plate or other heat source.

Careful with heating, it can greatly increase the reaction rate if you overdue it.

For viscosity's sake -- on cold days -- I will fill a tall can with hot water from the tap, and place the etex bottles in them to warm while cleaning my brush & cup.

So Eric, your spraying etex on, or applying by brush. I received info on appropriate mixture for spraying using cheap air brush with bottom feed bottle. I know heating quickens reaction time. I am trying to eliminate any bubbles for one thing, and thinning application for another. Just trying to make my plugs look as good as i can. I know they work.

I have an enclosed spinner box with a lightbulb inside. I put the etex bottles in the spinner box while I prep the work area. warms up the bottles just enough that the epoxy doesnt kick off so fast (and it will kick off fast the warmer it is). I can clear coat 11-12 w/ 1 oz of epoxy.

I still apply by brush. I didn't even know you could spray E-tex; have you tried it yet?

Why the hell would you thin and spray a self leveling bartop finish? (I'm trying to poison my respiratory system to elimiate bubbles in finish? wtf)

You are aware they sell it in a spray can right?


If you're thinning it to use as a sealer, denatured alcohol or isoprophyl is fine.
