I am getting older and I still fish and kayak a ton. But now I am beginning to wonder what I would do in an extreme emergency. I looked at the spot emergency locator. It looked good but I was put off by the annual fee and some bad reviews. Does any one out there have any suggestions in regard to a small waterproof vfr radio the kind that boaters use. I would go with a cell phone but where I live the coverage is not dependable. Any information would be helpful . Thanks Charlie

similar to an EPIRB but for a person, not a boat. Not hydrostatic either....
