View Full Version : Eagles
TheSpecialist 07-16-2003, 11:18 PM I just got back from seeing the Eagles. It was the best concert I have ever seen in my life. The place was rocking. Joe Walsh is a MadDog, the people loved him the most. I have to thank my wife for the tickets, best Birthday present I ever got. If you can get tickets for Friday night I highly recommend it.
Bill,
Did you catch them at the Fleet Center?
fishsmith 07-17-2003, 05:55 AM I heard the same thing at work yesterday.
- I'll start the campaign now Joe Walsh for President
I saw Joe Walsh Years ago as an opener for Foreigner...

JohnR 07-17-2003, 07:06 AM Happy Birthday Bill!
Would love to see the Eagles....
Best concerts seen: Pink Floyd, Springstein, & Peter Gabriel
If Pink Floyd ever decides to do a reunion, I'm there! :D
I recently picked up a DVD of David Gilmour in concert, and it was awesome!...
Hopefully Gilmour or the band will be back in the future...
Was Roger Waters with the band when you saw them John?...
JohnR 07-17-2003, 07:25 AM Nahh - I've seen Waters seperately but I think Waters / Gilmour back together is less likely than the Eagles would have been (but they did)
The Iceman 6 07-17-2003, 08:07 AM Happy birthday Bill - had the opportunity to see the Eagles @ Great Woods (geez wanna say 7-8 years back) and they rocked the house down - opened with Hotel Cali. Last week, saw Pearl Jam @ MSG - great show. For me, the best and most consistent show that I've seen has got to be U2. Two shows come to mind: Unforgettable Fire tour @ the ol' mall in Hartford (remember the whale?) and on St. Pat's day @ Boston Garden.

Saltheart 07-17-2003, 02:51 PM Happy Birthday Bill. Some people here at work went to the concert and apparently they thought it was great too.
Canalratt1 07-17-2003, 03:21 PM Pink Floyd in the 70"s Awesome! Hmm at least what I remembered of it...
BasicPatrick 07-17-2003, 04:59 PM Bill...Happy B-day
Never seen the Eagles but Got large for Fenway Springsteen in my pocket...will be something like the 17th time seeing the E-street Band and I will keep going as long as they keep touruing
John R...A 16 year old Basic Patrick saw Pink floyd do a Queens Command Concert in Wembly Stadium....All they did was Dark Side from Start to finish...I remember them exploding some type of Aircraft over the Stage at the end
nightfighter 07-17-2003, 08:00 PM Bill,
Was row TWO on the FLOOR at Tuesday night show! Best seats I have ever had. Yep Walsh came alive after the break. He looked like he was playing Gameboy or sumpthin when he was back at a keyboard. and his left hand is looking like he's getting some pretty serious arthritis, but he still can rip!
Henly can still belt it out too. Hell they were all good. The mark of a great band in my book is when the live performance matches or beats the studio recording, and they did all night long.
Bazza 07-17-2003, 08:51 PM Bill, Happy bday:D Sounds like a great show. It has definitly been quite a few years since my last concert.
TheSpecialist 07-17-2003, 11:06 PM Thanks guys the Bday was in April, had to wait to see the show.
I am seeing, Goo Goo Dolls, Sheryl Crow, and BonJovi tuesday night at Gillette, and thats it for this year. Unless my buddy's wife does'nt want to go to Springsteen at Fenway, then I am in.
Don was at the Fleet, 2 sections away left of stage, awsome seats.
JJ Frey said this is Fairwell 1 soon to be Fairwell 6. They were having such a good time on stage, that I think they will be doing this for awhile.
Billybob 07-18-2003, 07:35 AM I saw them at the meadows last time and you're right, they haven't lost any of it.
Kinda pissed me off that they canned Don Felder though, and I was wondering how much that would affect the sound. He really was the constant in lead no matter who's tune they were playing. But, I guess Joe picked up the slack.
First concert - J.Geils, ZZ Top, B.O.C. at the Cape Cod Coliseum,5 16 year olds from Ct. - what were our parents smoking :D
Bill
Slingah 07-18-2003, 02:05 PM Don Felder was a big part of that band, the hired gun pulled off all of his parts very well.
I thought it was a good show, but kind of calculated, not much interaction with the members.I wonder if they ever talk to each other.
My friend had dinner with the band before Weds. show and she said Don & Tim were very gracious and talked with her for a while.Lucky her.
