I have a Sorby 1/8" parting tool and a 1" skew and a 3/4" roughing gouge made by Record Power. Both companies are from Sheffield England. They use a much higher quality steel, which will hold a better edge. Sharp tools are key. The above 3 tools will run you around $100.00 Bernzy Bliz 07-17-2003, 01:27 PM Where do you purchase those from?... Bernzy 07-17-2003, 01:39 PM https://www.thewoodworkerschoice.com/temp/indx353.html Best price for 1/8" parting tool, 3/4" gouge and a 1" skew. $91.97 This is where I bought mine. Bernzy Bliz 07-17-2003, 01:42 PM Thanks!... I'll check them out!... :) PNG 07-17-2003, 03:02 PM Most of mine are Millers Falls and Bernzy said it, SHARP is everything I got two real old ones made by Buck Bro's that I think is damaskis???steel? Older does not always mean better. Chris Bliz 07-17-2003, 03:04 PM Damascus Steel is superb quality for knives! I'm sure it's the same for turning tools!
