Just caught the end of a CBS clip showing a guy in a kayak reeling in a grouper weighing over 500 pounds. It was released; apparently a protected fish.

Look for the kid who hand lines one with a tow strap from shore :)

The 552-pound fish known as a grouper was caught on a custom Barrett rod, an Avett 50w reel for big game, straight cable line and leader with a 18/0 circle hook. Black was using canal tuna as bait when he felt that fateful tug



Well I'd say he was geared up for it.... Still broke his rod. Love how the reporter says he brought it onto his kayak :rotflmao:
