I'm shocked. I saw him a couple months ago and he looked very healthy.

Where did you see this, Eb? FB? I can't find it anywhere, either.

Very sad. He looked healthy to me as well when I last saw him....

I am blown away. I knew Kevin had the same cancer I have (bladder) but last we spoke in May it was in remission.

Kevin was one of the best. A surf fisherman's surf fisherman.

Only guy I ever knew that would be casting bucktails on the CTown breachway in January.

What a huge loss.

Very sad news. Didn't know Kevin, but enjoyed his posts. His knowledge of blanks was second to none, and helped me decide on one, on more than one occasion. T's&P's to him and his family.

Shocking. Kevin has done a favor here and there for me in the past, and actually sold me an Allstar 1208 blank that he got to Saltheart to wrap for me..... Now both gone.

Rest in peace, Kevin. T & P for his family.

He told me of how his mom went to this small school house in the town I live in and about a tornado came that through here in the 50s. Use to be dairy farms here that employed a lot of the local people back then.

He was always very proud of his kids. <3

This sucks.
I was just thinking I hadn't seen Kevin online for a while.

Kevin was someone I ran into a lot around the south shore. We bought/sold rods (including one trade back) and I still have one that we swapped last year.

Many of his customers were near the beaches, and we crossed paths while I was working or just shot the breeze in a parking lot. He loved his kids and grandkids, and loved talking about them. Best wishes to his family in this tough time!

RIP. You wonder what happens to all there gear they have,

Not sure. He had 4 daughters but no sons, (I don't think). I'd love to buy some of his old rods certainly not because I need another rod but to remember him.
He bought one of my late friend Chet's rods this past Spring.

Rest in peace. I don't know if i ever met him but i am sure we crossed paths a number of times. Traded some PM's over the years about rods over the years. When i am down in Soco i think about him and always wonder what his rod selection looked like, dude had all the conventionals you could ever need. Whenever a thread was posted about conventional rods he would chime in.

I didn't know either. He used to pop in to my studio to say hi any time he was in town and we would talk about fishy things. The last time he came in he sold me an Abu big game and said he knew he wasn't going to need it... I am wondering if he knew then that he really wasn't. :(

He knew it was a matter of time. I cannot fathom knowing that. Fighting the uphill battle.

But if one can judge a life by the family left behind and the impression left on others. He did pretty good.
