I just got a season parking pass for Scarborough Beach up here in Maine. With it I also have access to 4 other parks for no additional cost plus 24 hr access to scarborough. This means parking at a bunch of my fishing spots with no worry of tickets or access. So for the heck of it I did some research and found that there were several other parks that will accept this pass. like many of us fishing the surf we feed meeters and park attendents all season to keep ahead of the meter maids. If they do that here they sure as heck do it other places. something to look into. It sure was a surprise to me to find out how many places I can now get into with no hassles. Happy 4th. Ron

I got a Senior State Pass to Massachusetts State Parks (like Scusset, South Cape) and it was $10 LIFETIME. Just like the Federal National Park $10 lifetime. You just need to be 62 for each-No issue for me as I was 65 Wednesday.
It's funny you mentioned it. I too heard about state park passes & how they are excepted in various spots in the New England region.
Not to say its reasonably priced.

No they're not cheap but if you add all the parking fees we pay and park fees it's quite a savings in the long run. Let alone the shorter walks involved with the alternate parking and the risk of tickets if your vehicle is there 10 min too early or too late.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. Friday I did a pay it forward. As I was leaving canal, no spot burn as everyone knows there were plenty of 25 to 30 pounders I see "an old guy" trying to figure out how to get his 25 pounder on his canal bike which only had a milk crate and rod holders. I offered to carry it to my car and drive it to his. I carried the 25 pounder a qtr mile and drive it to him. Turns out he was 82, visiting from FL and has fished every day for the last 2 months. I hope in 17 years I am still fishing every day and can beat a 25 pounder.
