Taking the wife and 3 boys (ages 8, 5, 4) camping in Eastham tomorrow for 8 days. Many here gave us some great tips which will really help, as I have only been on Cape Cod once. Really looking forward to it. We have a fishing trip scheduled with Rich Wood from Nelson's, and a lobster cruise with a lobsterman from P-town (we did this 3 years ago, kids loved seeing what came out of the pots). Talking about doing a seal cruise or whale watching. Bike trail cuts right through the campground. Will have a couple of fishing rods just in case, but I won't have any time away from them, that's the whole point.

Thanks much to all who offered suggestions.

Thanks! If we do a whale watch, we will go with them. I always feel better getting a suggestion from someone knowledgeable, rather than me picking someone at random. Thanks for taking the time to suggest.

My wife and I went on that boat in 2010 and it was incredible. Not only did we have MANY sightings and whales performing for the boat but we ran across a huge school of bottlenose dolphins on the way back in, which the captain said was somewhat rare. There's a shore side bar/grill right at the base of the dock if you have a little time to kill and want a quick bite or beer before heading out.

We stay in Hyannisport so I don't know the lower Cape area very well but we really like trying to make it down to the Beachcomber. Great raw bar and typical seafood fare right on the beach. Has music later at night. Highly recommend.
