New England Kayak fishing is hosting their 11th annual Striper Shootout from Aug 14-16 in Salem, MA

For those of you who have never heard of this, it's a catch and release kayak only tourney and the only prize for the winners is a trophy and bragging rights. All entrants receive a ticket for a huge raffle that we do on Sunday at the BBQ, which includes a few kayaks (one of which is always a hobie). Overall it's just a great weekend of fishing and hanging out. I believe all the campground spots on Winter Island in Salem are now taken, but I can give you advice on accommodations if you are interested.

For those of you that fish the Salem Sound area - there will be about 150 kayak fishermen centered around winter island this weekend!
