Went to Scarborough Beach up in Maine tonight after a week on the ditch. Nice swell an there were fish close in . Got a bunch from 23 to 38 all on my Chubby Needles and Super Spooks.. Some even ate the teasers. Nice night but hard part is that I had the place to myself. The rocks were the place to be but there were fish where the rocks an beach met. Tried to get a couple so called hard core to join me but since I couldn't garantee them fish they begged off.used to be always someone willing to join a hard core with a place dialed in. Ok though I enjoyed the night.

Wish you lived closer Ron I would have joined you. Crazy we did not cross paths on the crowded canal last week as I was there every morning. I think Bruce said he bumped into you. How did you do. I had a couple good mornings and a couple everything went wrong mornings. Did you get into any of the late morning bites? I was at work by then.

Ron,
Crowded so I can see how I missed you last week. Fished canal every day last week to Thursday. Retired andliving 3 miles from Bell Road helps though that is not where I always chase fish. Also wished I lived closer to you as I would have joined you as I am "Hardcore From Shore" as the name implies. Fact is I rarely have missed a day since back from FL and TX in April except when I am travelling. Regardless of fishing availability and conditions still magic daily between 3 and 7 AM. Birds chirping at 430 and Ospreys hunting soon after always have me hopeful whether I see one fisherman or a hundred.
This past week had better days Tues. Wed and Thurs, topped by 3 20# plus bass. Those three on surface in a crowd. FUN. Biggest I saw was 39 pounds on a scale in a lot.
Next time you come south let me know. Also I am trying to get to MV with my wife several days either side of 10/3 (striped bass Saturday) and would like to fish with you then as well if you will be at the Derby.
After the nice 3 bass Thursday AM I had double hernia surgery, so DR. said no 20 pounders or better for a month. (Even wrote it in his post op orders). So by Mid/ late August I look forward to hitting it again daily.

Good to hear there are fish around. I'll be in Saco for a week the week after next. Been tough getting out with work and kids lately so hoping to get a few on vacation. We stay down near goosefare brook. Any blues around yet?

Hi Paul an Bill, I did a load of ridin an night fishin on the ditch. A fish here n there with a couple good bites found. 27 lb was the best in the ditch. Went with the wind in my face n walked a beach got a nice 48 in 43 lber on my drk green over ivory super spook. Was fishing the edge of the weed line so it was a bit of frustration at times. Big surf with weed scatered but bait all over the place. saw a few mid 20 to 30plus lb fish released plus a bunch of little guys but had fun ignoring the rules so to speak an got a couple nice bites in the middle of the day and on the high end of the tides. Ran into some great people from all over too. Some haven't seen in yrs. Some of the 34 to 40 in fish were very chunky. i had one 36 in wes 25lb. Talk about a watermellon. Would love to have a return with that fish in 10 yrs. Interestin conversations with some of the comms an sportsmen talkin about the fish an the regs. Even the enforsement guys seem to be just keeping people honest an keepin things on the light side. Love Market Basket . Good food n low prices. Better than the Mac D dollar minue or the dollar hot dogs at Cumbys LOL

No blues showin yet. Goosefare seems to be holdin small fish with worms workin good at times. The rock down the beach had some fish yesterday at day break but the tstorms shut the fishin down as it was very nasty. Just got our power back a bit ago.Was out all night just to give you an idea how bad the storms were. Try the rock piles but parkin in some places is dicey. About 13 a day but the open gate ones you can park all night.

I was out there the other afternoon, only time I could get out, glad the rains came through, chased all the sunbathers away...lol
Did good, caught a handful of fish.
