Do I think deflated footballs have contributed much to his success?? No, I don't, but the fact is he knowingly participated in an act that gave him an unfair advantage. You could almost call it cheating. What irks me is that some fans refuse to see it that way, almost like parents who can't admit when their child has done wrong. They put the blame on others or attempt to call attention to others' wrongdoings. It's likely that other teams are guilty of this, and perhaps more scrutiny needs to be given to this matter, but for now it's Brady and the Pats who are being made an example of. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device MAKAI 07-28-2015, 11:11 PM As I've said before, the NFL has about as much integrity as pro wrestling. When most of the players are HGH users a little air out of some footballs pales in comparison. But who cares, JUST WIN BABY ! Every team out there would kill to go 4 for 6 in 15 years. Rules be damned. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Sea Dangles 07-29-2015, 02:38 AM I'm a lifelong Giants fan, but I have to admit, Brady has proven himself to be one of the best in the game. Brady did himself no favors by destroying his phone. If it goes to a federal court, the question will be if the league, as defendant, will be able to subpoena for phone and text records from the carrier. Does anyone really believe that info will disappear by simply destroying a phone???? That info is out there as soon as you hit send..... League is a mess. Goodell trying to save face and integrity, but won't gain any traction with this event. I have no doubt that Brady was involved with getting the balls conditioned to a "feel" or being broken in. Many ways to do so. With a group of new balls, presumably supplied for the Indy game, the last option available to get the "feel" would be air pressure. I am convinced he was involved as QB in that aspect, but doubt he was aware of what the PSI was, and probably didn't even know the min/max PSI allowed. The feel would be more important than the PSI and that changes according to temp and usage. BUT, he certainly did not comply or come clean with the investigation, flawed as it was. He did what many would do and tried to cover his azz..... He should have been more forth coming sooner.... The longer this goes on, the worse it will be on his "legacy", which is really what he is fighting for. Oh, another word for that would be money.... I'd rather watch women's soccer or stick a fork in my eye that contribute to the fallacy that is the NFL...it gives me a good reason to make more plugs. Oh Geez, thats a prime time game against the Colts, the team that set this whole thing off. Probably gets playoff like ratings. NFL makes a boat load of cash. League is a juggernaut. They don't loose, even with a dope like Goodell running things. I think Jimmy G goes 3-1. Inflates (see what I did there) his trade value, Pats sling him to some team before the deadline for picks or a god willing a corner. Brady comes back in F U mode and lays waste to the rest of the season. F U Brady is the Best Brady. We're on to Week 6! MAKAI 07-29-2015, 10:17 AM I like watching women's soccer. The Dad Fisherman 07-29-2015, 01:39 PM My biggest issue with this is with the Arbitrary Punishments that Goodell throws around....absolutely no consistency. In 2006 the Jets get caught taping the Pats from a non-approved location and get fined.....Nothing In 2007 the Patriots get caught taping the Jets from a non-approved location and get fined...$500,000 for the Team, $250,000 for the Coach, and the loss of First Round Pick In 2014 the Carolina panthers got caught, on film, heating footballs during the game and got fined.....Nothing In 2012 the San Diego chargers got caught hiding stickum in towels, and refused to give the towels to the refs, and they were fined.......$20,000 In 2015 the Patriots get accused of deflating footballs, a $10,000,000 investigation ensues, which determines that something might have happened and the Patriots get fined......$1,000,000 to the Team, loss of 2 draft picks, and a 4 game suspension for their Quarter Back and for those saying that Brady is getting fined for not giving up his personal phone.... In 2010 Brett Favre is accused of Sexually Harassing another Jets employee by Sending pictures of his #^&#^&#^&#^& to her, he refuses to give up his phone and he is fined......$50,000 In 2015 Tom Brady is accused of having the footballs deflated a friggin pound, he refuses to Give up his phone and he is fined.....a 4 game suspension which amounts to $1,750,000 Goodell's Integrity is a friggin joke Rockport24 07-29-2015, 02:01 PM great points! well, most legal experts are saying that the NFL doesn't really have a leg to stand on in federal court on this, so it seems that Tom will end up playing the entire season anyway. Sea Dangles 08-09-2015, 05:09 PM After reading the majority of the transcript I admit to having a new outlook. I am still wondering what type of motivation Goodell has to let it get to this point. I am leaning towards the Spence/ Incognito camp and wondering how a company that size can do business in this manner. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device afterhours 08-09-2015, 06:28 PM goodell is basking in the sunshine of all the haters and losers. his hatred for bb extends to tb. love to see the keystone cops sting op exposed. Slipknot 08-09-2015, 07:40 PM If you think about it Chris, considering he screwed up on the Rice thing and listened to public opinion about the outrage then over punished, he also let things hang out there in this case to see which way the wind blows and listened as the media covered all across the country how the haters wanted Brady's head on a platter, so seeing how he could not find guilt from Bill, he completely reamed the team and whacked Brady hard. He let it fester so much there was no going back. I think they had no clue about how the weather can effect ball pressure so they already had their minds made up when Kensil told the Patriot guy you're in big f ing trouble. The investigation was a witch hunt and now Roger is contradicting and continues to make s h it up as he goes along changes things to suit his agenda to make himself look good but smart people should see thru this, the other owners go along with it but if this happens to them, and it will eventually, they will sing another tune like Kraft now does. one thing led to another I am still convinced that when Brady looked guilty at the early press conference, he was just given reports of 11 of 12 balls under 2 pounds low, and had no idea how that could be and did not know how that happened or had no explanation so everyone thought/assumed he did something. I find it very hard to believe he would ever condone tampering with balls after the officials approve them, it never happened and never would. Goodell needs to be replaced by someone capable, he has shown he is not capable. nightfighter 08-12-2015, 04:58 PM Judge to NFL; "where is the evidence?"
