I just built my 1st rod on a SW1088 and really like it and really enjoyed making it. I would like to make another for my 13 year old. I was thinking a SWS540 or a SW967. Something that would match say a 5500SS. Any thoughts on these blanks? Thanks,

I would make him another 1088. At 13 , he's gonna be big soon!! :) I think a 13 year old can handle a medium light 9 footer like the 1088. A 5500SS is fine for a 1088.

If you do go shorter , don't go less than the 8 foot 967.
