Hey, I noticed there are almost no SB specific threads on the site these days. I know the fishing is down, but someone has to be catching something. Does anyone have any good SB fishing posts to put up?

I have been catching a few in the mid 20 range in Narr Bay, but don't post pics or anything since I take the fish home and feed the family. I do not fit into the catch and release crowd, so I sit back catch what my family wants to eat and dont post any stories or "kill" pictures. Quite a few fluke this year as well.

For me its been a slow year. The beaches that usually produce well have been very slow. My son came out from Colorado 2 weeks ago and we fished my favorite beach for 3 days without a Tap. We did find fish in the Canal 1 morning but it has not been a Great Year.
Meanwhile, when my son got home he send me pictures of 5 nice Browns he caught. (Maybe good Striper Bait)

Nice productive morning up this way. Was able to locate macks, enough to load up two buddy boats as well. Found fish in six feet of water. Been pushing north of my normal haunts, learning the areas I haven't spent time in for years.

Stuck a 37# couple of weeks ago, other than that fish in the mid teens to low 20's but not alot.

I've been fortunate to be on friends boats more than surf this year, and done very well.

I don't know where the year went. Only made it to the canal once and got the skunk. That being said I also went out on a charter once and ended up with a PB bass so that was good.

Hopefully I can get out a few more times in the next month or so

Practice casting this am. Yesterday, 2 fish on and both threw the lure. Slowed considerably as week progressed. But great sunrises and Venus rising about 5 each morning was spectacular. Always easy to get out when dry and in the 60's pre dawn. Bill

This season has been really good. From the early bay fishing to an early topwater bite out front which only got better as june turned into July. Some of the best surface action ive seen in a couple years. Fish into the 30's and, up into the mid 40's.

Havent been doing much bass fishing since the hard tails came in. But after i get albied out well be back hunting some fall fish. With all this bait we should be seeing some epic bass fishing.

Been my best season from the surf in years in terms of numbers and poundage. This past month pretty much solidified my season, anything else will be a bonus

When I've been able to get out its been very good. Lots of fish and couple 30lb (31 and 33) plus from the surf on the same darter, diffrent nights

think ive taken a skunking 3 maybe 4 times, have been able to a find at least a few fish an outting.

Lots of small fish (14-22") in most spots which I guess is good for the stocks but makes hauling em in on 11ft rod not so fun. decent amount of low to mid 20lb fish all on plugs, havent taken one fish on a riggie or jighead/eel all season.

Did a lot of scouting in my down time and have a few spots Im going to put some time in come fall as long as i have the time.

had one of the most interesting days/nights of fishing in my life early in the season which i plan on writing about as I think it would be a good discussion thread, but saving that for down time.

I have been doing better lately than earlier in the season. Long runs with little sleep and fishing the 0'dark 30 hours have been producing on riggies and dead eels. A couple in the 30s but many in the the mid-20# range. I'm happy. I haven't killed a bass this year ....yet.:)

With two young kids at home my fishing adventures have been less than often lately. But I have been enjoying some mid moon action at a small spot down the cape. Seem to meet nice people there every time I go to boot. Although Saturday night a guy was "drifting" an eel into my legs for awhile on the outflow. Kind of annoying.

Nice, Jay. I'm taking a break, too, but coming back with a vengeance to finish out the year after the new moon. Hoping for a traditional RI fall run with all the peanuts and adults around...

Certainly been a down year but things have been better this week. Friend got a 40# from a NS beach on a pencil this past weekend. I picked up a nice fish from the same beach this morning on a pink sluggo. Still a ton of squid around and the bass seem to be taking more notice as of late.

Tautog fishing is starting to pick up. We caught a couple nice keepers this morning around 6 pounds each. Along with one 29" striper and 2 nice black seabass. With hardly no wind, today was a very nice day on the water
