These guys don't know where the EEZ is. I like the spinning reel on the casting rod.

If I didn't hang out with a crew from Roslindale and Hyde Park back in the 80s, I'd think that this was just a gag video they made. :rotflmao:

In there defense it is possible they are new to boating and fishing and just had no clue what it was. Think about how excited you would be if you thought you just discovered the largest flounder in the world. However I would be lying if I said I didn't watch the video 3 times and laughed my ass off

That was absolutely classic. Hilarious. The guy's voice reminds me of the Frank Rizzo character from the Jerky Boys tapes. What a good laugh.

Might be the greatest internet video of all time. Endless material in there...friggin' hilarious.

Speaking to Poncho's point, here's a nice follow up to the story. Bless their simple, simple hearts...

What I wouldn't give to be at this "fisherman's" house when he brought that home to cook and eat, while he tries to convince anyone stupid enough to eat what he caught!

You could probably replace the mola-mola with any number of large fish (gars, sturgeons, sawfish to name a few) and this clown would say the same thing.

His attitude sounds a little like that of a poacher, willing to take anything and everything as long as it has "meat on it"!

Maybe he is related to the a$$clown that tried to hook the great white that was in the tidal pond near Woods Hole a few years back, or the idiot that tried snagging the basking shark in Hull some years back?

Yeah, they sound like real poachers. Lots of ill-intent in there. :rollem:

I'm pretty sure these guys haven't spent any time on the water and might be lacking in mental capacity, as the video I posted eludes to. That combined with sheer excitement/bewilderment and you get pure Mass-hole fishing gold. I'm not sure you need much more analysis than that...

We take our knowledge of the ocean for granted, guys. Imagine being entirely unfamiliar with the existence of that huge animal and coming across one. Like the news reporter said, there were feelings of excitement, mystery, and a host of others. I love the guy's reaction and I can't see any reason to knock him. Awesome video.

this really is just classic stuff! I mean I would be shocked if I came across one of these as it would be a very cool sight, but it obviously just blew this guy's mind!

How about you dont kill something unless you know what it is! Especially if you think its a baby whale. I thought NY had the market cornered on morons, but this guy is the king.

You know, if they were in Florida, I'd bet they'd try to gaff a manatee. :D
