Thanks
nightfighter 09-27-2015, 07:02 PM Well it sure is bright..... Eclipse starts in an hour.
With some weather coming this week, looks like a good time to fish ahead of the low pressure system.....
redlite 09-27-2015, 08:37 PM Pretty cool off the back deck so far. Half way gone now. Should be out fishin it but in my older age am more satisfied to be experiencing it with the kids at home right now instead. Good for me as a dad..::.. Shame on me as a fisherman.....probably epic with 40#ers jumpin everjywhere but so be it

cpollnow 09-28-2015, 09:35 AM Did anyone encounter a bite last night during the eclipse that shut off when the moon went full again?
ivanputski 09-28-2015, 09:58 AM was wondering the same thing ^^^
Guppy 09-28-2015, 10:03 AM I was on top of some when it started,,,,, lock jaw!

So they bite turned off when the moon went spastic?
Grampa Greg 09-28-2015, 02:47 PM I really can't see how the eclipse would affect the bite more than a couple hours of cloud cover would during your standard full/super moon.
GG
Guppy 09-28-2015, 04:33 PM So they bite turned off when the moon went spastic?
No, When I finally found um, about the time it started, they where not nice to me at all.. LOL Droping an eel on a pile or two normally gets noticed,,,,,,
ivanputski 09-28-2015, 05:50 PM Years back i was on block in october on a crisp, bright, full moon nite. Not a hit for hours. One single lone cloud slowly covered the moon and instantly me and my partner hooked up simultaneously. We landed 4 fish in 5 minutes between us.
Yup, you guessed it... The second the single cloud moved and revealed the moon, not a bump... And we never had another bump.
This was the only time i have ever experienced such an instant switch on and off in action in conjunction to full moon and cloud cover . I had to see it to believe it

Steve K 09-29-2015, 08:07 AM I once fished an eclipse on BI in October. There was nothing before, during, or after. I was really expecting something great too.

Mike P 09-29-2015, 11:25 AM I think the only reason why people think that an eclipse has any great effect on fishing is because Bob Rochetta caught his then-record 76 pounder during a lunar eclipse circa 1980 or so.
Rmarsh 10-04-2015, 10:57 AM I watched the whole amazing event..with one interuption before the moon went dark, something hit my eel and took off.
The moon was still shining as bright as ive ever seen,so even at 150 yds away, I clearly saw the fish jump out of the water and splash down, and I could see it was large.
I was glad that I just had line put on my reel because this fish was taking a few long runs. When I eventualy got it ashore I could see that it was a striped bass as large as Ive ever caught. In the past, I've had a few fish i couldn't revive after being weighed and i wanted to release it unharmed, so it went back and I watched it swim away..
Guppy 10-04-2015, 02:22 PM Nice job Bob :-)
