hey guys,
From your experience, what recommendations can you make for a
spray can clearcoat for plugs like superstrike darters?
I spray painted a few, and would like to keep the paintjob from scratching off for a while.
I was thinking of using many thin layers of an automotive clearcoat.

Rustoleum makes a clear coat for wheels that may be worth trying. I haven't tried it but figured it was worth mentioning. Of course there are many automotive clear coats available that could do the job but compatibility and price may be an issue.

The auto and van clear stuff works decent for what you are looking for and wont break the bank. And I've used it myself and Im not making wild ass guesses as to what you should use?

Min Wax does make a spray gloss clear coat that I've used a few times on test plugs that holds up ok. Not bullet proof but nothing really is.

U Pol is the best, durable, I have found, thanks Freak, but smells horrendous so don't do it in your basement or you will end up in divorce court. You can buy it on line. It is an automotive clear for small jobs.

One other thing!!! Make sure your clear coat is compatible with your paint. If not you will get crinkled paint. Trust me, I've done it.
