-Obama withdraws troops and diplomatic support from Iraq and doesn't do a thing more

-ISIS gets new leadership from secular remnants of Saddam Hussein's regime and gains critical mass

-Syrian civil war breaks out

-Obama and Hilldog backs anti-Assad rebels covertly

-Civil war rages on and ISIS, not happy with Iraq, invades Syria

-Combination of Syrian civil war and ISIS atrocities creates flood of refugees

-Russia says enough of this crap and intervenes to assist Assad. Syria has long been a Soviet/Russian client state.

-Russia bombs rebels, in doing so, probes Turkish airspace repeatedly (firstly with a drone).

-Multiple Russian aircraft are shot down by Syrian rebels equipped with U.S. hardware - here's just one example:

http://www.dailystar.com.lb/News/Middle-East/2015/Nov-24/324384-syrian-observatory-says-russian-helicopter-hit-in-syria-rebel-group-says-struck-it-with-anti.ashx

-Russian jet shot down by Turkish F-16's and missiles supplied by the US

-Russian marine attempting to rescue downed pilot is killed

Is it any wonder that Hilldog is so quiet? This is her foreign policy f*ckup.

This is Obama's foreign policy f*ckup.

All I can say is ... what a mess. Where is this going to end up?

The cold war is over but just now a NATO allied country shot down a Russian aircraft. Remember Vietnam? Are we back to fighting proxy wars?

Is this WWIII in the making?

Maybe Obama really is the antichrist.

You forgot about the part where Republicans like John McCain lobby Saudi Arabia and Qatar to pump millions into anti-Assad forces, um, I mean ISIS.

Yeah, except it was Hilldog and Obama who made the decision to do so, right?

I don't recall Mc$hitstain being in the WH at the time.

How is adding a little perspective "partisan?"

Funny how there was such a clatter for us joining Russia in a coalition to destroy ISIS, which Obama never cozied up to, then a NATO ally shoots down a Russian plane, a rescue copter, as well as shooting parachuting pilots while they were still in the air(shouting Allahu Akbar)--what are the chances of the coalition now.

I just find your perspective ALWAYS comes from one side of the aisle. I lean Republican, but have no problem calling them out when their political and financial ambitions are of more concern than the common good of America, its people, and the world. They all suck. The party system sucks. It comes down to winning for the party more than solving problems and governing for the people. Incumbent party always takes more heat. But I TRY look at both sides of the coin. Just appears to this reader that you do not.

I think you're conflating Turkey and Turkish interests.

I didn't specifically mention Turkey nor wasn't thinking about Turkish interests.

I said I didn't SPECIFICALLY mention Turkey. I actually said "a NATO ally". If I wanted to specify Turkey, I would have said "Turkey." If another NATO ally had shot down a Russian plane, the question, and wording would have been the same, and the context of the statement (the possibility of the U.S., a NATO nation, having a coalition with Russia after it having been attacked by a NATO nation) would have been the same.
