I'm watching pacific warriors right now. Not bad for a fishing show since there are so few of them on tv nowadays. Wicked tuna is funny they switch between big penn wides/Avets during the fight. This show they are switching conventional to spinning during the fights, cracks me up. I pointed it out to my girlfriend and she had no idea what i was talking bout, like 95% of the viewers i'm sure. Still looks like a lot o fun though. I was hoping to see some guys using VZ/ZB's but penn and Diawa have the market for these guys.

About the only reason I can even stand watching 5 minutes of the reality-type fishing shows these days is to catch the bad editing mistakes. Same thing happens on River Monsters and Monster Fish.

As much as i love fishing, for some reason i have zero interest in watching fishing on tv. I tried watching pacific warriors 3 different times and each time i checked out quick.

The editing, voice over and endlessly repeated segments make it unwatchable

Not to mention the ridiculous territorial traditions of the Hawaiians ... Acting like it's hundreds of years ago and it's tribal warfare or something.

One of the few fishing shows that gets the blood pumping - short of the mistakes.

Todays fishing shows are horrendous, seems to me we had far better ones in the past. Last good one was Jose Wegebes Spanish Fly imo.

All these shows are just build up for the last 10 minutes of the show, just watch the last segment and youve recapped the whole show

this isn't really a "fishing" show its a show about guys who fish. I agree it can be annoying, but its still really cool to see how these guys do it.

If I could somehow find a way to get paid to travel and fish I'd jump on the chance. Of course due to my lack of any fishing ability at all the show would bomb but they could edit in someone elses reel going off , and show me with a bent rod "fighting the monster fish" or "snagged on the #^&#^&#^&#^&ing bottom again" , wouldn't matter one damn bit to me.

I still enjoy watching fishing shows, especially more of the fly fishing/C&R related shows that focus more on the experience than the kill. Wicked Tuna IMO has done more damage to how lay people perceive Rod and Reel fishing than any other show. The participants have terrible ethics towards each other and the resource - a very sad commentary.

You guys are a bunch of fishing snobs, you know what, if any of you were on a fishing show I'd would watch it!! I would!

I mean, here we have a show about guys who catch 100 pound plus tuna on kayaks in hawaii and you guys turn up noses.. sheesh...

I have recorded all episodes, but haven't watched one yet. Some evening I will as I can blast through commercials and reviews right after the commercials. Hey its about fishing, the nights are getting longer, and there are less and less football games on during the week. Not to mention all the junk that is on TV as alternatives......

it's decent for what it is. In the winter I would watch any fishing show even one where Andy snags the bottom. I enjoy it just for the scenery though, it is my birthplace.

I have 4 aquariums.... I'd rather ( and do) watch them.... a lot can be learned by studying fish in a rectangle full of water...I just cant force myself to watch "reality" TV...
