Gup, My Yami dealer says Yami recommends a timing belt change at 900 hours for our motor. It's $90 for the belt and I forget how much for the service but it wasn't outrageous. Do it!! It's cheap insurance.
OLD GOAT 12-03-2015, 02:10 PM I've bought them brand new as brown filters.
Blow it out {inside out}and save.
Is it a Merc??? They charged me $17 bucks for that filter in Orleans.
I've changed those filters in an IH motor back in the 70's.
They do a good job.
Guppy 12-03-2015, 05:24 PM Yes Paul,,,, she's hit 1000 hrs and that's why I'm looking at it,,, looks like more than I want to tackle,,,, going to sub it out :-)
Goat,,, I got the wrong filter thru SIMs,,, my bad,,, went over to bass River marina paid 22 bucks for a 13$ filter.... F n boats! :-)
thefishingfreak 12-04-2015, 07:33 AM Yanmar engine mounted filters are around 35 bucks each plus the Yanmar/racor setup fuel water filters are over 40 bucks each.
X2 engines...:err: Plus they are Yanmar specific, there is no aftermarket alternative. I do get about 300 hours on filters though.
it's like buying a new reel every filter change.
piemma 12-04-2015, 07:58 AM BTW, Gup. I have my dealer do the filter on the motor but I change my in line 10Micron filter once when it get Winterized and then again mid-season.
Boat owners shouldn't complain about costs.
Everyone knows we are all rich.:nailem:
Finally getting my boat back from the shop after the repair of the damage from some dips##t that rammed her in my slip.
Pick her up and covering tomorrow.
Will be turn-key in the spring though.
800 hours in 4 seasons
