Been done since two weeks before Thanksgiving. I usually throw in the towel on Thanksgiving, but this year I called it early because I was going out west to spend Thanksgiving with my son and his family.

What's left to prove this time of year? The fishing is nothing to rave about, and the same usually goes for the weather. I practically live to fish, but I'll be damned if I'm spending my days in December sitting aboard a boat trying to get a few lousy ground fish while my fingers turn to rocks. And winterizing the boat when it's 35 degrees out is nothing short of miserable. Haul the thing and go for trout, I say.
