Proud to pin a badge on my middle son yesterday with the mayor watching. Winked at Marty and said if I stick him, at least we have some help close by. A tough academy and he finally has the job he has been working so hard to get into.

He is working for Boston EMS and he's already seen some crazy stuff in just the academy, but that's what he loves doing, but I don't want to hear all the stories.

Congrats to your son and I agree, he will see some crazy stuff. I wish my mind could forget some things my eyes have seen. The EMS/Fire service is the best boys club one could join. Tell him to be kind and be safe.

Hope he stays safe.
Certain parts of the city it's a real dangerous job.
Had a guy a few years back driving one of my plow trucks for a few winters.
He was a Boston EMT and had enough with doing that job in Boston after he got stabbed for the 2nd time.
Drugs related calls were a big % of the calls they went on.
Pretty sad when you got to wear a bullet proof vest to work doing a job to save people's lives.
