View Full Version : Recommendation for headboats fishing Cod?

My pops and I were looking for a good boat fishing this time of year. Anything from the north shore of MA to RI. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

if you really want cod (instead of haddock or pollock) you probably want to go out of the RI. I'm not 100% sure on the regs, but I believe most of the gulf of maine is closed to cod now.

Edit: just googled it, it's very complicated, seems the closed areas change each month! probably best to check with the boat you plan on going on.

Thanks guys I called a few boats I knew...looks like RI is our best bet. Just something to break up the winter and have some chowder and fried fish!

I may go Friday, depends on if they find fish on thurs. thier last trip was slow. If not I'll try next week after this storm goes by
