View Full Version : Patriot Hangover
Got Stripers 01-25-2016, 11:32 AM Is it just me or do others blame coach Bill for allowing us to get to this point. I think some of the game plans the end of the season blew our chances of having that game at Gillette and I think the outcome might have been different with the home field advantage.
I understand the 4th and 5 at the end of the game with 2 minutes left, but I don't understand the first one they blew. I understand the math, that touchdown and 2 point ties the game, but with the defense playing decent and the offense struggling, I'd have taken the 3 points and the sure thing and hoped to hold and then maybe that last touchdown drive is for the win.
That was a hard game to watch and so un-Brady like some of those picks he threw. Hard to believe he could be so sharp the game before and look so panicky this one. Is that defense that good or we that bad in game planning and offense?
I don't know that we could get by Carolina, but I think we should have had the chance. I know Bill will go down as one of the greatest, but at times I think he makes some bad choices.
Mike P 01-25-2016, 01:43 PM I think the only person that can justify going for it with almost 7 minutes left is the coach. Everyone else thinks it was a bonehead move. Especially when you stop to think that the 2 point PAT has about a 25% success rate.
Plus The Broncos didn't do jack #^&#^&#^&#^& offensively in the second half.
And Brady has always been less than spectacular when he's picking himself up off the ground more than 10 times a game.
piemma 01-25-2016, 02:09 PM I am a Pats fan to the end but I am sick and tired of Coach Bill and his arrogant persona.
He blew this year with the stupid rugby kick in the Eagles game, the kicking the ball in overtime in the Jets game and the crap offensive and defensive calls in the Miami game.
We win one of those 3 games and the Broncos have to come through Foxbore and while there is no guarantee of a win, they certainly would have been better off with home field advantage.
For 7 years he had deferred to kick at the beginning of the came when he wins the coin toss. Yesterday he decided to receive. BS!!
4th and 6 in the Redzone and he goes for it rather than the field goal. 4th and 10 in the Redzone and he goes for it rather than the field goal. That's 6 points. Again no guarantee that they win but, 6 points are still better than ZERO!!
afterhours 01-25-2016, 04:25 PM bb's calls perplexed me on more occasions this year than in the past.
thefishingfreak 01-25-2016, 06:20 PM It was a good season. They've struggled lately, Just imagine what Carolina would have done to them.
Everyone aboard the Carolina train. Chooooo Chooooo

MakoMike 01-25-2016, 06:45 PM I have to agree that some of his choices are perplexing. But it is what it is, we lost fair and square. Give credit where due, the Denver defense was amazing.

Although I still think he's a great coach, I agree with the rest of your remarks.. ..they should have SO gone for the 3 points , then try for the win. There have been quite a few head-shakers toward the end of the season (last few games particularly)....This is normally when I begin to think that it's fixed (again). Good thing I rarely gamble on sports anymore.
Denver's D was intense no doubt, but the Pat's Offense was terrible,...and what was that dance that Brady was doing? There was no one near him? I'll be disgusted for awhile, try my hardest to route for the AFC none-the-less.

When you see a totally bogus call by a ref, and you see rediculus coaching judgement, never forget that it could indeed be a rigged game.

Raven 01-25-2016, 08:48 PM hey shuddup ..... the ref's were not ready for that statement
now say it again
ecduzitgood 01-25-2016, 09:15 PM I found Jimmy Carr on youtube helped get my mind off the game.

Slipknot 01-25-2016, 09:29 PM In Bill I trust
usually that is said as "we" but lots of monday morning quarterbacks
I see why he gambled on 4th and one, only needed 1 yard, trouble is the play didn't even get the ball to the line of scrimage let alone past it a yard so with Denvers' swarming D, Edleman never had a chance, I hate those plays. Bill takes chances, got to be aggresive.
Got to hand it to Wade phillips and his D line, they played the game of their lives. Our O line got man handled all game just about and the results of that pressure got to Brady's head.
The only Patriot I don't blame for that loss is Gronk, he gave the team his all that game as he does all year.
Looking forward to next season:pats:
