View Full Version : Donor has FAILED
macojoe 01-30-2016, 06:43 AM Well it looks like I am in it for the long run!! My donor has FAILED! She is putting out to much protine, which is a sign of weak kidneys. She said that they said might be because she smokes?? Nurses at my place said they never heard that before, I will ask my doc when he makes rounds on Wed.??
She said she is stoping smoking today, and going back in 3 weeks for another test? Never heard of a smoker that just quits over night?
O well I have 1 to 3 years on the list to wait, we will get there!

But she statedf she was quiting and going back in about a month to be retested?? We will see?? I thankef her for all she has done and said I hope this did not uncover anything wrong with her!!! Hope she will be fine!
We will just wait and see what happens from here?
Keep the prayers coming!!

Swimmer 01-30-2016, 07:01 PM Untreated high blood presure can cause that even if she is being treated currently the damage could have happened in the past causing too much protein to pass through kidneys now.

Fly Rod 01-31-2016, 10:54 AM Have U talked to your doctors maybe getting on the list for the Cleveland Clinic or in Pittsburgh?....the only thing we have to the east of us is the ocean, limited area to draw from where as in the middle of the country the clinic is a nucleus drawing from 360 degrees....if U were chosen to get on their list U could use Angel Flight that is free(check out)....Cleveland Clinic accepts people within 600 air miles
