View Full Version : New carry candidate
nightfighter 01-31-2016, 07:17 PM Ruger LC9s Nice compact size for comfortable carry assignment. Trigger is SWEET. No live fire yet, but I think this is the one. I was worried it was too small in my hands, but was fine with the magazine. Anyone have one? Now to thin the herd to bankroll this....
Hookedagain 01-31-2016, 08:03 PM Watcha selling ?
tysdad115 01-31-2016, 09:52 PM I like the sr9c over the lc series. But my g19 takes the cake for a compact carry .

redlite 02-02-2016, 09:14 AM I just shot one new years day as my sister in law got one for xmas
Also shot my brothers stainless kahr 9mm that day which is heavy but nice. Until it blew up in my hand. Thankful i wasnt left with a stub after that but its a story for another time
I am not a big fan of rugers. Just dont like the feel of them in my hand
It is light and not too bad recoil wise
I carry a g23 ( same size as andy's g19 but in .40sw instead of 9mm
In my opinion the ultimate carry gun if u can find one is a keltec in 9mm...if u can find one. They r very simiar to this ruger

Rockport24 02-02-2016, 10:31 AM what about the sig P238? just a cool looking gun, never shot it though!
nightfighter 02-02-2016, 01:09 PM If I were to go with another Sig it would be the 938.
Rockport24 02-02-2016, 04:16 PM oh yeah that's even better!
tysdad115 02-02-2016, 04:43 PM I'm patiently waiting for my new purchase to arrive...Dan Wesson Valor 1911. My dream gun.

Rockport24 02-03-2016, 10:42 AM whoa that is a nice gun right there Andy..
would love a 1911, at this point, i can't even afford the Ruger one though!
Slipknot 02-03-2016, 10:07 PM That is real nice
I'm sure you will enjoy owning it and using it
TheSpecialist 02-14-2016, 09:02 AM I love my HK USP .40c but more and more I find myself want to carry my 1911..
nightfighter 12-25-2018, 10:38 AM Never got the Ruger.
Looking to get a Sig P365 in 9mm. My P226 is too big to carry anymore. Throws my hip out of alignment.
Will be looking for IWB holster... Any thoughts? Slip, did you say your brother made them?
Slipknot 12-25-2018, 11:26 AM https://mk-tekholsters.com/
Yes he makes really well made stuff.
I got recently got a Springfield XDE 45 and it is sweet
Great trigger, comfortable and smooth.

Slipknot 12-25-2018, 11:30 AM I would have bought a 365 in 9 mm myself but not available behind enemy lines here for we the people.

The wife got me two IWB from him, One fits my G19/G17, thither is for my G26 I built all three Glocks this year
My buddy has that Ruger, not sure if all of the triggers are the same, but his trigger is factory stock, and a hair trigger. Scary light...
afterhours 12-27-2018, 09:11 AM Ross, I've shot a couple of LC9's. Feels good and shoots well. Nice cc, nice price point. Was considering smallish gun for cc, but the more I shoot my 1911 the more I love it and feel ultra secure with it.

redlite 03-26-2019, 08:14 AM If ya ll haven't picked up or fired the sig 365 I highly urge it. In my opinion the ultimate carry firearm

nightfighter 03-26-2019, 08:41 AM Did it get Mass compliant?
redlite 03-26-2019, 08:55 AM Of course it isn't yet.
My smart brother bought a house in NH a few years ago to circumvent these issues and got one.
Impressive little package
When/ if they get approved in mass gonna fly off the shelves

Hookedagain 03-26-2019, 01:46 PM Yes they are Ma compliant. However they're made of un-obtainium. Very difficult to get, from the manufacturer has them allocated and on Gun Broker they are usually $100+ over msrp.
redlite 03-26-2019, 02:20 PM So I was talking to a Rhode Island dealer the other day and he was explaining to me that there is a loop hole where he has been legally transferring them to mass for about $450. It sounded sketchville to me but the gist of it was that he sells u the frame and then is able to sell / transfer the slide legally into mass. Said he could get me one for $450 which is what my bro paid in NH. When and if they become available in mass I would expect they cost about $600.

They are available in Ma legally, just difficult to find. Buying a frame is most definitely legal. Thats how a lot of Glocks are bought new. A slide and barrel are not considered a gun, can be shipped to your house. (basically a paper weight) Once its put together you need to do an efa10.

SHHHHH, besides there is ow a new piece of legislation pending in MA that will put an end permanently to this
TheSpecialist 03-27-2019, 03:45 PM SHHHHH, besides there is ow a new piece of legislation pending in MA that will put an end permanently to this
Once you finish putting it together you have to register it on the EOPS site. If this new legislation passes you won't be able to register or do private transfers any,ore , you will have to go through a Mass dealer who will do the NICS check and then do all the paperwork for $25. At that point there will be no guns done in Mass not on the list because the dealer is legally responsible for compliance. In Other words get it while the getting is good
TheSpecialist 03-27-2019, 03:46 PM Good, I'll look you up when I run into a snag ; )
Its easy peasy...
