Meaning, I've seen some use what looked like rubber membrane to help with not scratching your SS If so, what do you use? Those look pretty good, especially for that price. thefishingfreak 04-07-2016, 04:28 PM No rubber, I put em on naked. Don't really care if my rail gets scratched. For the money you can beat these. I have people fight fish out of them with no problems. Hardware is decent, clamps are strong, finish is good. I am replacing my old ones this year. I like those the FF posted. There are lots of similar ones on eBay. I did use a piece of bike tire inner tube between the rail and clamp to protect the railing. I have them on the side rail not the bow so I can reach the rod from the cockpit. Poncho 04-15-2016, 04:52 AM I ordered them the other day just waiting for them to Get here Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Poncho 04-26-2016, 06:32 AM So I installed the rod holders and they look great. i would like to mount them in a fashion where the rod tip is horizontal to the water. I plan I buying rod leashes. Any suggestions on how to mount these to avoid them falling out while trolling? Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device thefishingfreak 04-26-2016, 09:11 PM The ones you just bought I have on the bow at about a 20° angle up. I also have 4 rod holders literally mounted straight out of the hull pointing at the horizon and haven't lost a rod yet Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Guppy 04-27-2016, 05:33 AM And those are just the tip of the iceberg.... :bl: Poncho 04-27-2016, 12:50 PM Thanks freak Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device thefishingfreak 04-27-2016, 08:26 PM And those are just the tip of the iceberg.... :bl: I thinks it's up around 20 something now, I haven't counted in a while but I added another one to the bow this year lol Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device thefishingfreak 04-28-2016, 05:41 PM 26 in the gunnwales I just counted Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Guppy 04-28-2016, 06:40 PM Swiss cheese vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
