Looks like 50 degree temps everyday from sunday on.

That should spell the first landed bass at the west wall.My prediction is that sometime between wendsday and saturday someone will lay claim to the first school bass landed.

The Rhode Island DEM Netted a dozen small bass in salt pond last week for studies,so they are moving about.I think they will venture out of the pond soon and take a peek along the wall!! Now, who will be the first!

Because of tradition I will most likely head down there for the first cast of the season next thursday, with that first cast, the season will officially begin!

I just cant make that first cast anywhere else!! Dont overlook providence,With those temps, the fish will come alive like crazy down there.

Last year I had 70FISH night in providence with steve Mckenna ,That was right at the end of march and, it was all after dark.

Yehh Baby!! Can't wait to get some bucktails into those waters!!

Long term forecasts are putting nearly a week of mid 40 to 50+ temp days and hopefully some SW winds will should accompany those warmer days. I've been getting nervous by the lack of warming over the last few weeks as we normally would have one warm stretch in Feb/March which hasn't really ocurred...

Don't worry guys, the week after next, it's going to be in the 60s the whole time--plan on it. I'm going to Florida, so fer sure the weather is going to break here. Why couldn'ty the wife had made the plans for this past week? I could have watched the blizzard on the Weather Channel wearing shorts and LMAO, and then gone to the show in two weeks.

I'm going to rent myself out as a drought-breaker, too. I can bring rain anywhere I visit. If any of you have relatives in the Orlando area, give them fair warning of the impending floods now. ;D When I go to MV, Schultzie calls me "Monsoon Mike".

I would say yes the fish in Providence and in the Salt Pond will be moving by next weekend if we get the warm weather predicted. To me though , the big question is when will the bright fish arrive.

I also have a question. just as early as the west wall , we see fish at Sachuest or second beach. Are those fish fresh run or do you think they have wintered over. If you think they have wintered over , where do those fish spend the winter.
