Obama uses his "Power" to close 60 percent of Hawaii's waters to commercial fishing/ (http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2016/08/26/obama-expands-protected-waters-off-hawaii-creating-worlds-largest-reserve/89377556/)

Really confused how a huge piece of the ocean can be called a monument......

I thought it was BS then too, but now its 4 times as big. So an imaginary "monument" built with ever changing flowing seawater, shaped into the shape of a giant middle finger, now covers over 582 thousand square miles

I'm sure this middle finger is pointed twards China so they can't send their factory ships there.
I don't think this will ever happen on this scale in the Atlantic.

Looks like they may be looking to the New England area. It would not surprise me at all.

American fishermen are deeply fearful that the Obama White House could cut them off as early as this week from major fishing areas of the U.S. continental shelf on both coasts, (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/09/13/will-obama-fence-off-more-ocean-us-fishermen-are-fearful.html)

U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut -- whose state does not loom as a major fishing center -- who earlier this month vocally nominated an area he called the New England Coral Canyons and Seamounts for preservation status.

Coral canyons ? Oh that is just rich. Let's put the name coral in there to make you think that there's coral there

There actually is slow growing cold water coral there, NOAA Okenos did some submersible dives, the footage is unreal. That doesn't mean I support closing areas, particularly to fixed gear and rod and reel; I have mixed feeling about keeping some areas closed to mobile gear.
