...i have a vs 150, probably 7 years old now, and this am the reel arm shaft cracked...that happen to anyone? seems like that should be covered by warranty, no?

Yes you did. That was in the hours before they closed the launch service due to the wind and "storm." I was surprised to find those guys were trying to get pogies trolling sabikis and a tube....
