Schoolies amongst the seals in Salem Harbor yesterday morning.....

Full day today working on our kitchen remodel, after a 12 day hiatus due to other work commitments. We sold the slide in stove this week. It is getting old being without a sink, etc, as I gutted it about a month ago. So the plan for today was to finish framing soffit, board up last five feet and get the finish mud work done. But as I climbed up the step ladder for the first time, my tape measure brushed up against the vaulted ceiling. And went right through it.... Turns out we have had a honey bee nest behind the ceiling and wall! They had somehow turned the sheetrock into paper as they built their nest and the only thing between us and them was the coats of paint!!! No bees found, not even dead ones. But resulted in more unplanned demo and rebuilding. All boarded up now, including the last of the soffit. But I am not going to be skim coating tonight.

Lorri heard buzzing in our bedroom wall one day and decided to give the wall a poke. Amazing how many angry bees can come through a finger size hole. I was at work, but she and the dog got tagged pretty good. I just got to see all the dead little bees in the room when I got back. Like you said, only paint.

I was at Twin Mt., NH this past weekend . . . sunny and warm Friday, but I had to brush a few inches of snow off the car Sunday morning.
