View Full Version : Almost time of end of season challenge? chefchris401 10-29-2016, 10:50 AM Forget when we usually do this, but figured it would be soon unfortunately :( SAUERKRAUT 10-29-2016, 11:32 AM Back Beach used to host and sponsor the end of season ritual. piemma 10-30-2016, 06:59 AM Too early. Water temp still in the low 60s. Plenty of bait around, squid just showing up now and sea herring aren't even here yet. I think we have another month unless it turns wicked cold quickly. numbskull 10-31-2016, 06:32 AM I'd love to see sea herring again but I think (albeit without hard facts) that the pair trawlers have made that unlikely......and changed the fall bass migration pattern by doing so. JohnR 10-31-2016, 07:20 AM I would like to run one but I am flat out right now Chris - nice write up! Numby - about two weeks ago I received an email notification that they met the sea herring quota for 2016 in our zone. I think that fishery is now shut down until 2017 except for by-catch. OLD GOAT 10-31-2016, 10:37 AM If you guys run into Back Beach please say hello to him for me. Thanks chefchris401 10-31-2016, 10:42 AM Paul, yeah I think we have at least a month to go. I don't hang it up til after thanksgiving sometimes later. Thanks John, article came out good, and they used a decent pic of me Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Guppy 10-31-2016, 03:20 PM Chris - nice write up! Can I see? :-) stripermaineiac 11-01-2016, 03:21 PM The SO CO fishing is sure makin up for the poor fishing on the Vineyard this yr. It got worse after you left johnny ducketts 11-03-2016, 11:56 AM It's been off the charts here at work in the morning, a ton of schoolie sized bass 15-22" going nuts at first light and then again towards the end of the day. It's almost a fish a cast these last few days. I just gotta get something to punch through the top layer, because I know there bigger fish down below. But the topwater action has been too fun to stop. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
