Saw a commercial for a product called the Air Dragon.
It's an air pump that plugs into you car lighter, looks like a pneumatic drill/air gun and is shown "quickly" (probably TV effect) inflating auto tires.

What had me wondering about lawsuit possibility was when they showed the attachments and their uses they showed air mattresses and balls. They stated that it could inflate a deflated football, preventing any problems, and the person in the ad was wearing a
"12" jersey.

Surely that could be a problem if the Patriots organization takes exception to that "parody" of the team and Tom Brady?

The Patriots have bigger things to worry about - like Atlanta :D

You answered your own question - First Amendment gives wide boundries for parody. The number 12 is a non starter - it is not an NFL uniform the guy is wearing . . . lots of times the players (and retired players) wear generic jerseys with their number on it to not run afoul of NFL trademark rules.

On to Houston !
