Been working on a pvc kayak stand that will be for rigging, cleaning, etc. However, I won't use it for long term storage in the winter or even prolonged periods during the season.
I have 2 thoughts on this and definitely need help here. I'll be mounting the rudder on the stern (the ocean kayak rudder) and this makes me think that the boat will want to tip to the stern (especially hull down) with that extra weight.
I was going to use 2 stacks of milk crates or padded saw horses with the kayak hull side up, though with the tilting I'm concerned about that along with the fact that with strong wind it will blow off since you can't anchor it.
I have leftover PVC that is 1.5" and I am thinking of making a stand only the boat would be on it's side. Along with more weight on one side, would the PVC be strong enough to hold the boat about 5 feet off the ground and not cause any warping?
