I know this is a total long shot but if anyone is headed out to the mid-west (Iowa in particular) I have a few smaller pieces of furniture I'm trying to move up here. I've looked into quotes from the uship places and it's cost prohibitive for what the items are worth.

Any other ideas on moving small furniture let me know - thanks

Jeff, I agree. Shipping charges have gotten crazy. We tried to ship some stuff to SC last Nov and, for the price, I just bought new there.

Sam with shipping a car. Average price I was quoted was $700 to $800 one way for a little Suzuki SX4.

Just missed my trip but didn't have any room for stuff...your dad says HI! Doubt I have to go back to IA and drive back, but will keep you in mind if I do.

Not worth it for an end and side table. Those small furniture shipping places want 400 bucks which is just not worth it.

maybe ping the local Craigslist for a college kid coming back east in may? Pay them some cash?
