8x cable connectors, are the crimp on as good as the sweat on....

I decided to pull the antena each year to avoid wrap problems,,,,
Sweat ons are PIA......

I have read that sweating the connection just adds another metal into the mix, heightening the risk of failure due to galvanic corrosion.

Lead doesn't corrode and, in fact, it protects the other metals from corrosion. I've had crimp connectors corrode and fall apart while that never happens with the sweat on connections.

OTOH crimp on connectors are as lot easier to work with.

I'm a crimper. If you're not good with a soldering iron (which I am not) crimps are the way to go.

Crimp on works fine. You're just gunna tear it out in a year anyways
