I have been looking to replace many of the cheap trebles on my
Lures to a single hook
People Recommend VMC but I dont know which version would be best. Sizes I assume would be 2/0 and 3/0
Thanks in advance

A couple things. First off, according to the manufacturers you want the belly hook to point forward and the tail to point back. I will echo this recommendation. Second, I have found they work much, much better on solid hanger lures as opposed to swivel hangers and won't even consider them on swivel hangers. Third, I have seen people find success by doing exactly the opposite to what I have said here so your results may vary.
Here is a chart from Owner for upgrading from trebles to singled in-line from when I did some research on the last year.
Treble Single Replacement
#10 #6
#8 #4
#6 #2
#4 #1
#2 2/0
#1 3/0
1/0 4/0
2/0 5/0
3/0 6/0
4/0 7/0
5/0 8/0

To take it a bit further I think lure cross section may also be a factor. I've had trouble hooking fish using a large danny that I converted to fixed hangers. I think the wide body of the plug twists the hook point up and away from the fish as the fish hits the plug and pushes the shank up against the belly of the plug. Likewise I had issues with the hook overlooping the body and hanging up on thin needles with fixed hangers. I think they work great on thin profile plugs like plastic swimmers and magic swimmers.

Was the belly hook on a swivel? I don't think single belly hooks work well with swivels.

I agree. I put VMC treble 3/0, 6X on the belly and VMC 5/0 Siwash on the back. I always tie the Siwash with bucktail or feathers. I vary the dressing, sometimes all white with red thread. Sometimes white with black on top or red, or neon green.
