it's been awhile...I see some old familiar faces :wavey:

I've been out of the fishing loop and needing a new reel for a 1205. There must be advancements on submersible reels that won't break the bank by now.....any recommendations? Should I bite the bullet for a VS? Is that still the go-to underwater reel?

Penn 706 is not watertight but could be completely disassembled for cleaning in less then 5 minutes.

Yo Just blow the dust off your old Ahabs, put a little linseed oil on drag washers and get back to it

Haha I still have my ahab, 21 years old I spent 1.50 on a new drag washer last year.heavy as $hit but still kicking.

As for a dunk surf reel go with the new version of VS they are light in the hand and wallet but buy some extra line roller bearings.

Don't waste your money on the VR series reels. A VS200 or Zeebaas ZX25 are what you want.
