View Full Version : WTB-Canal plugging Rod
texican 07-26-2017, 08:03 PM Looking for a buddy with no computer skills. Plugging rod for the canal up to 3oz. Not looking for high end rod. He is a newbie.
Yes his first time out was when the big girls were around this past tide. Yes I told him he will probably not have another morning like the last few in many years.
Pm me.
Thanks

mackenzie 07-27-2017, 04:34 PM Hi, I've got a 10 1/2 what I believe is a honey lami one piece. Don't know the specs but I bought it from Mike P. a couple of years ago and have never used it. In his selling post he stated that in his opinion this was one of the best pencil popper rods around. Also have a Diawa Saltist 6500H reel only used a couple of times if interested. Also have a couple of other rods but don't know how they would be for plugging. On the heavier side. They're a bit much for me. Dave.

mackenzie 08-22-2017, 01:24 PM Don't know if it's considered a jigging rod but I have a St. Croix Premier Surf-PSRS 10'6" MH 2. Line 10-25 Lures 2-6. I've cut approx. 4" off the butt. Good condition with a few scrapes marks. $50.00 Dave
fishing bum wannabe 08-22-2017, 09:44 PM I have a 10.5 2-8 oz rated TFO GIS SCS 1065-2 that I could part with as I have 2 of these rods. The rod is 4 years old, gray blank with the split rear grip, will handle a wide range of lures. Tonight I used it with 2 3/4 oz pencils, stick shads, Magic Minnows and 5oz jigs. I have thrown SP minnows and loaded redfins with it. Great backbone for fighting fish in the current. The TFO is a great all around surf rod and my favorite at the canal if I only want one rod on the bike. It has some rash on the stripper guide and wrap from hanging plugs while on the bike. Also some scratches on the butt section from using holes between rocks on the canal as rod holders. $100 picked up in Norwell or meet at the canal.
texican 08-23-2017, 03:45 PM I will let him know guys. If there are any more options out there I'm sure he would appreciate it.
Thanks
