WESTERLY — Lodged underwater about 10 feet off the shoreline at low tide at East Beach is a mysterious circular metal object with stainless steel legs that are capped with concrete. It is prompting both intrigue as to its provenance and concern because it presents a hazard to swimmers and body surfers.

Not mine. Looks like a mount for an adcp, but I asked all the usual suspects a few weeks ago when it was first found.

First thing i thought was the old Charlestown Air Station at Ninigrit. Maybe something that crashed years ago in the WWII era. But not sure if they had stainless steel back then?

It is clearly a fully articulated transit hatch cover from a 4th generation Alpha Centurion space warp pod.

you remember in 2fast2furious when Paul walker and Tyrese jumped that car onto Verone's yacht as he was getting away? they actually filmed that movie in south county... the rim broke off and sank... this must be it. Great find.
