Harvey now a hurricane and will be a Cat 3 by landfall. Then stalls. Some areas of Texas are predicted to get 20-30 inches of rain in the next couple of days....

Yes. Biblical rains. Cat3 winds. Devastating. And some tracks having it go a little inland - back out, restrengthen and go back in.

If it dumps that much rain then they are getting flooded BADLY. That clay won't absorb much water then that's it.

Not a lot to steer it right now.
This is the 5 day....

I wouldn't expect it to hang out that long, but several days of heavy rain and surf is going to be ugly down there...

Hope the people that need to, evacuate...

That's good, for some reason I was thinking he was near Corpus Christi.

Man they are getting it, with no end in sight.....

While T&Ps are with them, I can't help but notice that every destroyed, torn apart, or leveled building I have seen on TV news reports looks like it was under built, crappy construction. There is good reason for building codes and the hassles we get to comply with it.

Some of the areas had 130 mph winds and spawned tornadoes. A lot of construction would be down with that. But some of those newer hotels missing walls and some of the homes did look shabbily constructed.
