So after a non productive day chasing albies I stop at the canal for a peek. Looking across to the mainland side it looks like someone has his dog swimming against the current. After a few minutes the " dog " turns out to be a guy who stripped down to his bvds to get his jig undone from the edge. He was out a bit from shore. Gotta love googan watching.

I had a patient, an old woman who had grown up in Sagamore. She described how she and her friends routinely swam in the canal before WW2. Said they'd go in with the West tide, float down to Bourne, goof around, then float back to Sagamore with the East tide.

Saw some people float tubing one night on the canal - saw the red lights headed east down canal - then a tub/barge combo heading right for them - dumb

I once witnessed 2 guys who were obviously serious special oops large mouth bass fishermen launch their tubes inside the east wall and proceed to fish the tip.. all went well until they hit the rip and got shot out to the elbow and then they retreated to the camp Cronin parking lot side beach. They got banged up pretty good.
