Looking for suggestions for a hook file. Mine are shot. Need something that will handle larger trebles. Best one I ever used was twin round files butted together but I can't seem to find them anymore. Any advice?

BFThunter 10-17-2017, 08:36 AM I've heard a few guys use two chainsaw files taped together. I use the Hansom one, does OK. MakoMike 10-17-2017, 09:18 AM I just use a 6 inch mill bastard file. Nebe 10-17-2017, 10:58 AM Leatherman wave multi tool has an excellent hook file, scissors that can cut braid like butter and pliers for unhooking lip hooked fish. I love mine. Donnmar CP212 Big Game Hook Sharpener Thanks for all the suggestions. DZ tlapinski 10-18-2017, 10:46 AM I've been using one of these for several seasons and love it. It is small enough to fit in my bag yet the sharpener doesn't rust and it puts a great point on hooks large and small. http://www.cudabrand.com/products/sharpeners-sheaths-skin-gripper-scales/cuda-knife-shear-hook-sharpener.html vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
