JohnR 11-24-2017, 09:00 AM Good prices. Next year new TV - the 10 year old Samsung HD is still killing it

tysdad115 11-24-2017, 01:05 PM I must be the one anti Samsung person on the board. Had a killer tv of theirs for 56 days ,it fried itself from the inside they tried to tell me tough #^&#^&#^&#^&. I beat them in court though , they paid me ...My Sony magnolia 55" is the best I've ever owned.

trevier 11-24-2017, 09:31 PM I still have a plasma that's running strong from 03. It's a pioneer, it's in my bedroom. I'm on my 2nd one for the main tv room.
beamie 11-25-2017, 01:08 PM Problem is you really can’t enjoy the true benefits of 2160p let alone 1080p for very little is broadcast in it. Still most broadcast are 780p from what I read.
Had a nice Sony for 2 years crapped out. Been on a Samsung for 5 and been happy. Sometimes you just get a bum unit I think.

Amazon Fire TV has the best 2160P and higher enabled box. YouTube has 4K stuff but can't appreciate coming through a cable box
nightfighter 12-17-2017, 09:23 PM Well, the Samsung is pretty awesome, after a couple hiccups getting it and getting set up. It is smarter than me, and like my laptop, I will probably only utilize 10% of its capabilities. First unit showed as shipped with a tracking number. But somewhere between BB and the shipper, it was lost. So finally had one shipped to a local store and went to pick it up on Friday. Very crisp picture, even if not broadcast in 2160 or 1080..... it is really good. And I thought the old one was good!
