Got Stripers 03-31-2018, 07:57 AM Years back, I'd have bet my first would have come this past Thursday in a holdover spot in mass, but them days are gone. Mine this year will probably be in the westport area sometime in early may.
PaulS 03-31-2018, 11:45 AM Does last week count? 😁

OLD GOAT 03-31-2018, 11:57 AM When daughter #1 was a teen she hung with her boyfriend and the rest of the commercial bass crew.
It was a big deal to catch the first bass of the season so off they go.Five guys and #1 daughter bassen.
Well I guess you can guess who caught the first.
YUP It was #1 and the boys where pis#ed.
Yup some times it takes a daughter to get things done.

There are no fish in the Westport area. So don’t bother fishing here.🤫
And by the way Bob the holdovers are still there it’s just that we aren’t there to catch them.

PaulS 04-02-2018, 09:24 AM Holdover or River?
While the fish wouldn't give up any info, I suspect it was a holdover:jump:

Hahaha ; )
FishermanTim 04-03-2018, 12:42 PM If it wasn't giving up information, wouldn't be a HOLD OUT, not a holdover???
The earliest I've gotten my first stripers and my first keeper was March 5th (some years back).
It was a particularly warm sunny day at the Mystic River.
Rappin Mikey 04-09-2018, 03:12 PM Soon!!
Rappin Mikey 04-10-2018, 05:24 AM Last year everything happened about a week earlier than a typical year. I am predicting everything a week later than normal this year. So plan on catching about two weeks later than last year. Just my guess
