Want to know what blows, knowing there are lots of bunker and large in a spot you can’t park in after Memorial Day. I got by without getting tagged last week and although I only hooked two fish, one would probably make my top five in weight. I have learned the Harbormaster does the ticketing and I’m trying to find out what money I’d be risking by hitting it again.

I saw a story on last night's news about a fish kill of menhaden up the river in Somerville... Was surprised I had not heard about it here or in the community before that. Second one in a week.

It’s happened in Plymouth before, too many fish and not enough oxygen, I doubt it was blues pushing them onshore; not with so few around these days.

I remember fishing out in front of the Plymouth harbor jetty before they died in mass. That was probably maybe 85ish and back in my Basstracker V17 aluminum. Gator 15 lb blues would push big schools of bunker and set up waves almost a foot tall as they rushed to escape. Wild day and very sore arms.

Ross, the thrill has gone out of it for me. No challenge anymore. jamokes, googans catching 30s and 40s and killing everyone. I just choose not to participate anymore.

I caught and YES, killed my share back in the day so now I'll sit on the side. I just have no desire to fish given the stock situation.

I know there are Fluke and BSB and Scup but I was always someone who just chased the striped ones.

So I've let it go. I'm selling off a lot of my gear. I'll keep a bare minimum of the real high end stuff to pass on the grand babies.

Or if the political forum had its own password like other hidden ones, that way we wouldn't even have to see the incessant whining.

I know..but all the bitches posts show whenever I check the site. "New posts" and it's all that's there, so I close out of the site altogether. No big deal, but the same buffoons crying over the same bull#^&#^&#^&#^& gets old. So I rarely come on or contribute anymore. No big loss I know.

Does a fishing forum really need a political forum??? IMO that can just be eliminated all together.......

For the win! Or make it like the cutty forum, that way we won't see any. Give them their own password and they can bitch at each other in their own virtual world where Trump is still their President.

I agree create a password. We don't want any snowflakes getting triggered.

may be one of the things actually keeping the site alive.....

The more vocal here are so worried about spot burning or killing fish. We worry about saying "the fish are biting' thinking that magical lurkers will swarm out to the water. These idiots don't need this site to find and over-kill fish, there are way more efficient ways out there, than to filter through all of the politics and false info on this site.

Make the whole damn site members only, then people can actually share information and fish stories, and god forbid might actually fish together in the same "hot" areas.

It’s like a marriage, lots of good sex and conversation in the early years and then the candle burns out and the conversation is either heated or non existent 🤪

I still fish, albeit not as much. I work a lot, I have a kid who plays a lot of sports, I have a house that always seems to need yard work done and I lost the drive I had when I was younger. When I get out I enjoy it, but I’m not killing myself to chase fish. I go when I have time and try to pick the right spots. I still check in here but definitely not as much as I did when I was fishing 5 or more times a week.

Been fishing the suds a few times a week from may thru october for the last fifteen years. Tried the canal but did not like it at all and never went back. Found a spot much closer to home where I could fish alone, most of the time, and for years it was very productive. I gathered a lot of knowledge of the tides, winds, and bait and how it affected the fishing there. In the last few years I have seen a steady decline in the numbers of large fish.....(this year so far...two keepers and probably about a hundred sub 20") I still go fishing there often, but now with much lower expectations.
