The years are passing us by so quickly.....hard to believe Steve left us 9 years ago. He is missed by his friend BigFish who is forever grateful for having known him.

Slipknot 11-14-2018, 06:49 PM http://www.striped-bass.com/Stripertalk/attachment.php?attachmentid=64899&d=1516914080 RIP Steve I am grateful to have learned from you Ed B 11-15-2018, 12:03 PM I first met Steve around 1976 or 77 back in our hometown of Worcester at #^&#^&#^&#^&'s Tackle Shop on Grafton St. I can honestly say I never met a more enthusiastic fisherman about anything and everything fishing related. He could spend an hour discussing snaps and swivels, or line, or a new reel or just about whatever was in his mind to fool the next fish big or small of any species. The younger fishing community of today is fortunate to have experienced some of his knowledge which he was so willing to share in his writings in On The Water, in seminars, or on the internet. His passion was contagious to the reader and I attribute a significant amount of the interest in plugmaking to Steve's discussions about the history of some of the older plugs and their creators as well as his own plugbuilding experiences. Although Steve left us too early, it's good to think of our old friends in a positive light and I hope his family is doing well. Ed ProfessorM 11-15-2018, 12:20 PM Well said. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device numbskull 11-18-2018, 08:20 PM His passing teaches us to enjoy every fish.....and even that is a gift from him. SAUERKRAUT 11-18-2018, 09:39 PM Yup...Steve enjoyed every fish. And on the trips home, he would always sit in the bow, exposed, looking at the stars. Now he is with the stars. justplugit 11-20-2018, 04:09 PM A very special person always willing to share his knowledge. Never forget that Plug Thread he started, that went on for months! ProfessorM 11-20-2018, 08:20 PM Hey Dave. Hope all is well. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
