View Full Version : Study shows fishing good for your mental health Jim in CT 01-12-2019, 11:06 PM https://www.foxnews.com/great-outdoors/fishing-trips-great-for-mental-health-study-claims DZ 01-13-2019, 07:06 AM I think many of us can relate. I know I can most of the time. I tend to be a loner when I fish - gives me the opportunity to free my mind without too many distractions (read other people ;) ) . That said I still enjoy my time fishing with groups as I have organized many over the years. But some of the participants I've fished with have been obsessed and add more stress than enjoyment so to speak. Whenever I speak to kids who are interested in fishing I make sure to tell them that fishing is a passion and everyone should have a passion. And that fishing will be something that they will always be able to do without having to depend on others so when they need time alone in life - they can seek refuge in their passion. Rmarsh 01-13-2019, 07:56 AM I agree...fishing is the best way to clear my head of all the stresses and nonsense I have to deal with. I fish with a buddy most of the time, we get along well....but I do like to go by myself sometimes to completely unwind. Same with my boat...fun to take people sometimes, other times I have a blast just going it alone. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
