Just now, most of these boats are from Point Judith and New Bedford...
Wonder what’s going on...

They only live for a year anyway, and they have already spawned, so no matter how many they catch it'll have no effect on next year's population.

I wish there were squid near me - or at least some in the canal ;)

Tasty cephalopods !!
Rhode Island style fried calamari with peppers would be on my pre-execution meal request for sure.

Wow, good to know , thanks...

An hr. Before 1st light this morning I’m on my bait up spot and fire up my jerry rig light,,,, through over the jig and immediately it gets attached by Illex squid (short fin ? ).... gazillions of them.... very cool...

At first light they disappear and the macs take over....

Caught almost as many bass,,,, all 24’s and one almost com. .....

The ocean is fun... :-)

Granted, but it will have one helluva effect on the ecosystem that those squid would otherwise support...........and that is unlikely to be good news for those of us who fish for those species.
