JohnR 08-03-2019, 08:30 AM I'll buy it, build a house and a fishing cabin closer to Squibby, then resell the house ; )
Slipknot 08-03-2019, 08:40 AM an extra 65 million? I'll have to get back to you
purchased 41 years ago for 1.1 mil
asking 65 mil
that makes it's value doubled almost seven times in 40 years, quite a profit considering inflation used to double value in 17 years back in 1978.
I couldn't afford the light bill on that place nevermind the taxes, or is that less because it's a sanctuary preserve?
Good to dream John
Mike P 08-06-2019, 04:46 PM Can you imagine, all of those Mayhews and Vanderhoops, sitting in their modest homes they inherited from their parents, now sitting on $10 mill and up in equity?

And if the taxes there are anything like much of the rest of the coastline, they are taking out equity loans to pay their exploding property taxes....
If I recall correctly, it was the property taxes in Long Island that drove Mike P to Massachusetts years ago....
If you don't have the $65 mil, Tom and Gisele you know who just listed their Boston place for $40 mil if that's a little more in your price range. Probably closer to work for you too.

They'll get it too, probably turn into a shrine ; )
I was just there today. So damn beautiful. Not much has changed since I was a kid.

$2.88/$1000 in Chilmark, and I'll bet a lot of it is assessed at well under fair market value. What town services are provided out there? There are probably fewer than 10 cops year round, a one room school, and a volunteer FD.

Your decimal in the wrong place?

Linesider82 08-22-2019, 12:38 AM I hope that when it does sell it remains in one piece. It'd be a shame to develop it, even if sea levels don't rise.
