With Salem next town over, there are obviously A LOT of folks who go crazy decorating for Halloween. (And this summer, half the town was done up for an Adam Sandler Halloween movie....)

But one local architect has made a habit of being very creative! Last year it was a 35 foot dragon. Year before it was a Starship. This year it is a shipwreck, complete with barnacles and seaweed. It will be open on Halloween to let the public see what he has in store inside the wreck!

Pretty cool. 1 family near me always pulls their boat before Halloween and sets it up as a pirate ship and they dress up as pirates and hang out

There were a group/family of women that lived near my brother years ago that used to have some really good set ups for Halloween.

The one year that really sticks in my mind was the year they set up a witches cauldron (dry ice fog and lit from within) in their sunken garage. You had to walk down their driveway into the garage.

The three women were dressed like the wicked witch of the west, and I mean with full facial prosthetics and green face makeup.

They looked great and literally scared every little kid that came near their house, until the kids realized they were giving out candy!

My two nieces were in the 4-6 age range and they wouldn't even look at them. They buried their faces against whoever was carrying them at that point and wouldn't budge, not even a peek.

I laughed and congratulated the women of such a great setup.

Some people like the holiday, others like these people LOVE IT!!!

I wonder what material the architect used. Those creative types could end up using literal garage and make it amazing. Can't imagine how long it takes to set up and break down

Very cool that he gets so into his decorations. That is a neat display for sure.

So I passed Tom, the creator of all these Halloween displays, today in the car and backed up to tell him how much I enjoyed this year's "Walking Man". He was pleasantly surprised to hear how well it was received on a fishing website, up and down the coast. Offered to help next year and he said he would definitely take me up on it... Should be interesting to see one of these from idea to fruition.
